Hi there,
Just got my MX518, and it feels weird when compared to my other generic logitech lazer mouse.
I have big hands, and I find that sometimes my little finger is trailing on the desk. also, I sometimes feel the dpi sensor thingy when i scroll, I dont touch the button hard but just skim it.
It does not feel uncomfortable, just feels weird.
What can I do? Do you reckon I should get rid of the mouse?
i have big hands, i have the MX518. My little finger skims my mousemat sometimes and the scroll wheel thing also happens.
Initally yes it was weird but now any other just feels very wrong. The worst thing with this mouse is the way dead skin collects on it, which just mean it needs cleaning more than most.
even on the mx1000 my little finger drags on the mousemat, something you get used to though...
i got a G5 and i get it too, its so frustrating ,cause ur not sure whether too not touch the mat with finger or leave it as it it randomly resting on it

Yep I found it a bit uncomfortable at first but now I love it ;). I thinks its more comfortable than the razor mice. And I do get alot of dead skin, especially around the finger tip area :surprised:Quote:

I just brought one of these from scan, but I haven't got a confirmation email yet. Been an hour, so I'll see if it goes through.
This is the only bad thing I've seen about this mouse. I have largish hands, but decided I'd give it a go, since not many people have complained about it. Think it'd be a nice change from my relativly heavey trust mouse.

Sometimes it won't move for 2-4 seconds, or i get the "du-ding....du-dong" hardware noise Windows makes when you quickly disconnect and re-connect a usb or other hardware device.
I switched to my MS Wireless 2 mouse, and it's so horrible to use, I'm putting up with the MX518 til I can afford something new/another one.
It's a shame, it is a great mouse!
it might be your windows turning your usb ports on and off to save power you can check this by going into your Windows Device Manager (run "devmgmt.msc") and bring up the properties for your mice and other pointing devices, and on the "Power Management" tab, UNcheck the box where it says "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" you can also try doing this to all the usb hubs and root hubs!Quote:

Nah, it isn't that. It usually does it when I've been using it. Is definitely the mouse as I've tried this and the MS one and the MS doesn't do it at all. Will test on a different PC though, just to be 100% sure.Quote:

I'm in the Mx518 club too, I have pretty short fingers but myfinger drags also and it did feel weird when I swapped from my intelli explorer - which always felt massive anyway.
and yeah, the way the dead skin collects on it is weird, lol. At least its easy to get off.
Now I'm used to the mouse its very good, does all I need and is great for FPShooters.
