    another pentium 805D thread

    hey guys, sorry if your all sick to death with these questions lol, well after buying the 805 from kempez ( cheers man ) i am after a good mother board to go with it, i think i am after the 975i chipset which will run crossfire (all good) and i am led to belive it will be conroe compatable so without going craxy on prices what would people recomend

    i guess i have around £180 but dont want to blow it all

    From what i have been lead to believe the only mobo which is available in the uk and conroe ready is this one http://www.lambda-tek.com/components...&prodID=B33495

    I was in the same boat as you but i ended up getting a cheap mobo as a stop gap untill there are more conroe boards available

    Yeah, it was me after the D805, but I think that sgoaty is right, I would go for a cheap mobo and wait until the choice is better, and they are cheaper.

    I have read (somewhere) that the 805 will drop quite significantly when conroe hits.
    Down to about 50 or 60 of those pounds.

    be VERY careful buying a i975 board for conroe. currently, only intel's own board is capable of doing conroe - minor tweaks are required for all other vendors' boards, and even then, you may have difficulty specifying the correct revision when buying from vendors

    right ok well it seems as though there isnt any point trying to get a board for conroe just now, however since i have bought the CPU, i am going to get a good motherbaord and some good memory, would this mem be any good > http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/part...2KIT12864AA663

    also what motherboard would be best i really cant decide, i may just get the bad axe
