Can I overclock my system?

Hi, not sure if this is in the right section, but before I can afford to upgrade I'd like to try my habd at overclocking (that way I'm not destroying my new kit if it goes wrong).

Can I get anyhthing extra out of my current set up?

Really depends how resilient your board and memory is to high FSB and most, if not all XP boards do not offer memory dividers

Your chip will also have a limit as well, depending on stepping.. a good bump to 166MHz or higher should be possible.. You'll have to pump in more volts to keep it stable as well..

XPs will run quite hot, esp older thrubreds and bartons.. so try not to be rambo and get ur volts pass 1.8 unless ur using water or a very very good air cooler..

Never had experience with such an old Radeon, perhaps others may have come across classics like these before.. but I wont think it'll go that far...

Ive had a quick look and i think your motherboard allows up to 1.85v and allows 1mhz fsb increments up to 266mhz.

As far as im aware your processor runs at 266mhz fsb at stock, in that case you wouldnt be able to push it further on that motherboard.

LMAO at 'classics'
This was my first home pc and was prebuilt from MESH at around £1500 about 4yr ago, and apart from transferring it into a Lian-Li case, adding an extra HDD and the psone screen mod remains as it was the day I bought it.

I recall earlier thrubred A XPs have unlocked multis.. if u do, then clocking it higher on default 133FSB should be possible..

Even if that is the case i think that xp uses a multiplier of 12.5x whcih tends to be the max on earlier motherbaords. Sorry to be pessimistic.
