    Scan Gtx 256 Heatpipe

the heat pipe on the cooler has 2 dents onit did not notice this when i got the card .. i have a second one for SLI the top one (dented heat pipe) runs at 54 and bottom one at 46 (after coming out of fear) i swapped the cards around and now they run about 1-2c difference (cooler) IE 54 and 52 when coming out of fear .. sometimes the dented one runs hotter and it is in the coolest place how IE at bottom near the side fan

whould the dented heat pipe be causing this as this? and should i take it back?

hmmm, unless you overclock the temperature shouldn't really matter that much... But if you're that concerned about 50oC on your graphics (wanna point out that my X1900 can withstand upto 100oC- both on same 90nm process so I imagine your max temp is roughly the same). I imagine the dented pipe would affect the flow of heat through the pipes but I have no idea tbh.

no heat not a problem the highest the dented on went up is 73 and the bottom one was 9c lower .. thats before i swapped them around so it should be cooler.. its the dents on the heat pipe i am bothered about most..

and the threshold is 115 on geforce .. whould not like to see it that high

Have you seen any image problems or instability when you're using the card at standard clock settings? If not, then it's not faulty.
