Right, time to buy new memory!

Looking for something high quality, has to be 1gb, decent make, and pc2700 (nothing higher, nothing lower).
Budget is £55 tops (inc delivery)
So far I have found;

At the moment the crucial is the most expensive, but I want reliability so I may be going toward crucial, although the first two do seem quite nice and cheap (Kingston is an OK make aren't they? :confused:)

Note that the RAM u've linked to @ the top is High Density... This means it'll only run in a very select few motherboards. Chances of yours being compatible are remote. Can I ask why u've capped it @ 2700?

Limited to 2700 as that's the most my mobo will support :(. And I can't afford to buy a new motherboard, yet. Otherwise I would probably go 3200.


Edit: Actually will I be able to buy 3200, but it will be limited to 2700?... could be useful for a future motherboard.

Yeah, you got the idea :) The memory runs @ whatever speed the motherboard specifies (overclocking aside). So if you were to install PC3200, it'd still run @ 2700. This would mean if you got a new board supporting DDR400, you could put the memory in that one, and it'd run @ PC3200. So kind of 'future proofing' if u like. But don't forget, memory speeds don't stop @ PC3200!!

If you're saving money by going for 2700 then go for it, because when it comes time for a new mobo, it'll probably need DDR3, so that'll be new RAM anyway!

Yeah, well I'm going to order the Crucial PC2700 then!.

get the corsair of the crucial, whatever is cheaper, authough in tests corsair comes out tops but its value ram so who knows what chips its using this time!!!
