21 Second 1M Super Pi Bench With Intel Conroe

Someone @ Xtremesystems forum has started to post benchies with an Intel Conroe 2.4 cpu.

    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...ad.php?t=95021

The chip can do 1M Super Pi @ 21 secs

Unless AMD comes with something new within the next couple of months, I am gonna have to join the dark side

Yep unless AMD pull something out of the bag (other than DDR2 sdupport and 65nm) I'll be getting a Conroe

When are these likely to be hitting the streets? Plus I thought they needed an EFI-based motherboard?

Seems after waiting over a month for a decent RD580 board (that still isn't being stocked in the UK) it may be worth waiting for Conroe

Second that.... oh why is it always Jam tomorrow, only stale bread available today.... and when there is Jam available there will be something even more tempting round the next corner.... when to jump and when to stick is all part of the game.....
Try to make each and every day the best it can be.

From what I heard some will be available from July onwards, but the whole line up will be available from Q3 06.

My last Intel cpu was a Pentium 166 MMX Tbh even though I would like to continue helping the little guy, unless AMD has something special under its sleeve it seems like I am gonna have to purchase Conroe as a Xmas gift for myself
