    **PC BUiLDiNG GUiDE**AKASA-ECLiPSE 62

    Greetings..

I have now got all the parts to build a nice pc inside a Akasa-Eclipse 62 case. Im trying to find some examples of other rigs of this case. I want optimum airflow and nice tidy cables. I have bought a cable tidy pack (akasa) but i want to get an idea of others setup that use the same case.

Also, advice and/or pics of neon setups with *this* case

    Regards

    Hi RecOil,

I too want to build a new rig with an Akasa-Eclipse 62 case. only I haven't got as far as you yet am still working on which components to buy. I'll be just surfing and doing a little of our finances and stuff like that, no games.
    Is this your first build?
    Hope all goes well

This isn't my first build by far, but I guess the first *decent specced" one. I want to start as i mean to go on. A professional looking pc, inside and out. I havent got a window for it yet, but once I decide on a lightening setup then i will.

I like thee subtle glow that soem boy racer cars have underneath their cars. Im gonig to try and replicate that on my system. I was going to start 2nyt, but Arsenal are playing, so come weekend is when i will begin work.

I will take photos at stages in the building process and post at on my website (demonfist.com)

So what spec are you looking at getting then ?

Hmn.. My system is pretty well lit.. If u want a clean look, side case fans in my opinion is absolutely a no no.. Optix range offer really bright neons (Fast and Furious type neons), I'm running 3 at the moment and they're so bright that I dun even need a desk lamp..

Cable managements will just need time, nothing truly impossible.. some dremmel work will hide even the most oddly positioned cables..

If ur cables arent braided, I suggest u get a braiding kit. If you dont have that much 5'' drives then move ur HDD to the top with those little HDD bracket.. Whip the bottom bracket off and then you'll get really nice ariflow to ur gfx cards. You can suspend a quiet 12'' fan in one of the 5'' drive bays with zip ties to cool ur HDD..
    Me want Ultrabook

Building in this case is an absolute dream to be honest, couldn't be easier as I did my first build in it and it was done in an hour.

I used the flat cables that came with the motherboard as these were easiest to route behind the motherboard tray, also got the ATX able running behind it too so there are hardly any cables in view.

I have an old picture online Here, as I said it's an old one but I should be able to get some more shots tonight when I get home from work.

For light placement I have the inverter on top of the 3.5" bay below the floppy drive and I have one cathode at the bottom of the case and another at the top. The top one is tucked up by the PSU and it fits in nicely under the DVD drive. I find this gives a nice even level of light over the case. I used the coolermaster lights.

I use Akasa's amber fans front and rear and I have no problem with temps in my case. Got a 3700+ sandy running at 2.6 that if I am unlucky will hit 41 degree's at full load with an Evo 33 cooler on the lowest setting. Hdd that sits right behind the intake fan never goes above 26 degrees.

Ok, new pictures up, sorry about framing, being level, its 2am and I just finished a 10 yhour shift at work.

Done some more cable tidying since pictures but battery is dead on the camera, now hidden the internal spaker cable and intake fan cable behind the motherboard tray.

Ok, First Off a nice desktop shot for you with the whole build, all shots are without side panel because it always messes with my shots.

Never Too Late for Angled Shots That gives a nice view of the sort of glow the lights give. You can see where the cables come form the inverter for the lights in this shot too.

Rear End! This is a bit darker than normal but the case lights are the only source of light for these (hence blurred).

The Good's Used to be my pride and joy but now selling the 7800GTX to my boss for some X1900XT action.

Cable Management I really do recommend braiding the PSU cables, makes it so easy to route behind the motherboard tray.

G15 while you are ordering the Eclipse, get one of these, if simply for the fact that they look so darn good, and your system temps on your keyboard rocks.

Hope this gives you a rough idea as to what to expect from the Eclipse, the only case I would use now. The finish internally is the best I have seen, everything is gloss black or mirrored finish metal, its so light and I only realised how big it was when I was fixing someone's Dell and I put it on top of this and it looked like a shuttle.

And to give you an idea of what it looked like before the cable tidying madness (yes, I have spent about 15 times longer tidying cables than actually building the machine, they are never tidy, you just move them around) I have this shot Eww, ugly!
