Single Channel 1.5 gig or Dual 1 gig

    Hi peeps,

Just wondering on whether it is better to run 1 stick of 1 gig ram with 1 stick of 512 gig, or just run two 512 sticks in dual channel.

I went and bought a 1 gig stick today and of course i'm unable to run a 1 gig with 2 512 sticks (my mother board is an Abit AV8 btw).

Basically is 1.5 gig in single channel better than 1 gig in dual, especially for Battlefield 2.

    Cheers

1.5gb better for BF2 cos its memory intensive, performance will suffer in games that don't however (sort of twitching, not lag)

    cheers

the next question is how much should i flog my two 512 sticks for? They're just bog standard generic 3200 btw.

or should I keep them and buy another 1 gig, having 3 gigs in dual channel?

Are there any games that would benefit from 3 gig?

well i don't know about your mother board, but apparently i can run the two 1 gig sticks in dual channel and the two 512 sticks in dual channel at the same time.
