My friend has a Pc with a 2.8GHz, however he uses it for gaming and the gpu sucks.
What AGP (it supports 8x) Graphics card could he use that would not be heavily limited by the cpu?

Northwood 2.8? or Prescotts? 2.8Ghz chips will do 3.2-3.4 easily.. then he wont be so severely limited..
Me want Ultrabook
I'd say he should go for a 6600GT but i really know relatively little!
6800gs/gt would be fine. Better vfm than the 7800gs. I use a GT with my 3ghz pressie and its great.
Not around too often!
lol, he wont be doing anyoverclocking, actually it probably has a generic PSU, or worse a flaming Qtec!!
He just dropped me the question the other day, i dont really know whats happening but thanks for the advice.

I'll second the 6800GT/GS but if on a budget a 6600GT is also a good option. Prob pick these up second hand on ebay for a good price.
The Northwoods were awesome overclockers in their time
Nox
afaik its a northwood but there will be no ocing especailly with the probability of such a crap psu

pitty really, a 3.4-3.6Ghz Northwood would have rocked... not as rad as a A64, but still rocks compared to the inferior Prescotts.
If he's staying with a 2.8Ghz, then a 6600GT would suffice.. 6800GS would tops it out really.. no point going any higher than that..
Me want Ultrabook
I have a feeling he will just get a new system sooner rather than later.
