Hi guys,
Which is the best pc build book to buy for a total newbie, your thoughts on this would be grateful.
CM2242
when i first built this pc, which was like a year - 2 eyars ago the book 'build your own computer' by haynes (company that sells car books) it was an absolute life saviour, altohguh the info is pretty old now it still teaches the basics in buildign a pc.
My experience is that most cases or barebones come with pretty good instructions on how to do it, and when I was a complete newbie a few years ago I got there!

I would probably have a look at the idiot guide series, they always seem to come up trumps.
Just read the mainboard manual :P Or the Dummy Guide series
Thanks for quick response guys. I think the hardest thing is convincing my wife we need a new pc/paper weight ! Hahaha
how about this then if you dont want a big book. it was the first one i came accross on google, theres loads more of them. :)
what about search google for e-books, its free :p and usually most of them use up-to-date pc components :p
I had some really old book, which showed pictures how to on like a P2 rig :O_o1: but i just read through it then used the net to help me a bit more, its easy to do though :)
i used online resources, and computeractive mag (they did a special thing on it)
not too hard to do, but best to have something to read fully, so you know what your doing ;)

Haven't used it but I read through it about a year ago and it seemed to cover more things :)
The best books are written by Scott Mueller. Period.
Noobies will have a hardtime getting throught Scott Mueller's Reparing and Upgrading PC book, plus it's kinda expensive
