    How exactly do these work?

    Hi everyone.

Just curious as to exactly how these work.

Not that one specifically exactly just fan controllers.

I want to put on on the new machine but do you like, connect the fans to that then that to the PSU or does it get the info from the motherboard?

And is it only certain fans that you can adjust the speed?

    I would appreciate any info

I would think that you plug the fan into it and plug a Molex (or other power connector) into it and the dials are something like a variable resistor that can be adjusted and increase/decrease fan speed.

    yep, what he said ^

on some, you also have temp probes which are just thin wires with a sensor on the end, and you stick them close to, or onto the thing that you want to see the temp of. this will let the controller automatically adjust the speed of your fans according to the temps, some controllers will only work with fans that have an rpm sensing wire.
