    Overclocking my P4 2.6 -- HELP!

I have an Asus P4C800 Deluxe mobo and a P4 2.6 800 mhz FSB. Oh yeah, I also have 2 gigs of OCZ EL 2-3-2-5. I was considering getting a good Zalman/Thermaltake cooling fan, such as the CNPS9500/Big Typhoon. Is it worth getting the CNPS9500/Big Typhoon over some of the cheaper $30-$40 Zalman fans, such as the CNPS700B? Alright, for my main question: if I were to buy some thermal grease and a good CPU fan/heatsink, how much of an overclock do you think I could get out of my P4?

Are these those 2.66 prescotts? or the mighty 2.6 Northwoods?

I would think the Northwoods aint that hot to begin with, but a CNPS9500 or Big T wont go to waste.. You're looking at about 3.2-3.4Ghz depending on stepping and mobo stability..

AS5, MX-1 or A-Ceramique never goes wrong.. Those Akasa Shinetsu pads are pretty good as well... £2 for 5 pads I think..
    Me want Ultrabook

You'll get 90% of your overclock out of the stock heatsink/fan. Thermal grease may add an extra 1-2%, an aftermarket heatsink/fan could add up to 10% with any luck. Time to look at your wallet and so the maths

And its impossible to guess your overclock, every CPU overclocks differently and there are a heck of a lot of extra factors to consider, case cooling, room temps, rail stability, how lucky you're feeling, how much time you want to spend messing around, what hardware is also enabled, what voltage you're willing to shove in the cpu, the list is long...
