    GPU cooler for 7600GT??

This is a sort of re-post, but in the month that I have owned my 7600GT I still cannot find one single aftermarket GPU cooler (and the little bugger that comes as stock is whiney when spinning).
Since the card is pin-for-pin compatible with the 6600GT, I am hoping that all those ones will simply work - but cannot find one reference to this anywhere on the internet (and neither Zalman nor Arctic Cooling have either responded to my emails nor changed anything on their websites).
All reviews of the 7600GT seem to like the card but hate the fan - has anyone got any help for me?

    Not sure if a 7600GT is same as a 6600GT, I've fitted a Zalman ZM80C-HP on my 6600GT

If 7600GT's layout is the same I can't see the reason why it doesn't fit.

I'm fairly certain Zalman show their latest offering (VF-900) as compatable with 7 series cards.

The older VF-700's should fit also. Indeed, any cooler good for the PCI-E 6600GT will fit - both use the same PCB.

Any cooler good for the PCI-E 6600GT should fit - i am slightly worried that a transistor here or capacitor there might have moved a little and mess up the connection. Also I need to know that it will dissipate all heat adequately, although this is admittedly less of a concern as I am led to believe the 7600GT is a generally cool running chip.

I need evidence before I fork out dosh - come on maunfacturers, do a very small amount of R & D and makes pots of cash from us!

    But you have a 9800Pro.
Do you also have a 7600GT that you are not telling me about?

Currently using a vf900 on a 6800GT overclocked to 435 from 350 and its keeping it cool it should handle a 7600GT with ease.

dun mind me, my grant proposal was rejected.. a little grumpy..

I mean, i want an answer, but people who post about something that DOESNT fit my card, well thats like describing a Christmas Turkey dinner to someone who has just turned vegetarian! Painful.

Im hunching possibly the VF700 series coolers may fit a 7600GT (judging from the location of the nipple holes).. but its just a guess, I might be totally wrong...

    The zalman page
    http://www.zalman.co.kr/
and choose the graphics cards shows that it supports the 6600 series so my best geuss is that as the 7600 uses the same board it would fit your 7600GT.

    I agree, it should fit.

    Update on the above.
So far the two big companies (Zalman and Arctic Cooling) have been very slow to respond to 7600GT owners, however this is the current state of play:
Zalman have their VF900-Cu which they have updated the info to include the "7600 series" using nipple hole 3. No direct link. Scan are selling them for about £25.
Arctic Cooling have just got info on their website for a new design called Accelero S3 although no clear picture is available (if anyone has any links, please post). No news on pricing. Due June 2006.
Do I wait? Will the new Accelero keep heat in like the other Accelero's (which i dont really want)? Should I get the Zalman which I know are good but also dont vent the heat out?
    Will these questions never end?

Edit: Just seen this post over at Sudhian that has a picture of the S1 - probably expect the S3 to look fairly similar... (?)

Want to put this thread to rest with a definitive answer (should anyone in the future do a search on this topic).
I have bought a Zalman VF900-CU and it fits perfectly. Haven't played with how far i can push it yet, but it is very quiet (my hard drives drown out any noise from the fan) and crucially IT FITS. Temps are also down, so all in all very happy.

Zalman responded to my email after a day or two, although what they told me was incorrect. They said the vf900 would indeed fit my 9800pro AIW ... the tuner will be in the way unless I chop of one of the little leg-attachment things. Dunno if they fit 7600gt's but I've seen reviews of them being eminently suitable for x1900xt and 7900gt cards...? Probably worth a look.

edit - oops, see you bought one already
