Shuttle SS59g power supply question

I have an ss59g Shuttle system, and I want to upgrade my power supply. I can't seem to find any of the 300w PC50's anywhere. Can an ATX non-shuttle power supply unit be connected and run externally into a shuttle?

I don't see why not and I remember a few users doing on the sudhian forums. Nonetheless I have found that iCubes, theglowlounge sell the 300W PC50.
