Recommened SKT754 CPU cooler.

I've just updated to an Abit NV8 motherboard and sadly the bracket for my XP90C HS rubs against a capacitor (bends it as you tighten it), the actual heatsink is fine, it's just the bracket. Anyway, what HSF would you guys recommend to cool an A64 3700?

Akasa Evo 33 currently cools my S939 3700 no problem, and I used to use it on a 3200 S754. You can run the fan on it's lowest level, and cooling is still great. Temps are in the 30s under any load.

You also get loads of interest from anyone who hasn't seen one before (took my PC into scan for some tech help, and loads of people in the queue were commenting on it ).

Do you have to mess with brackets to install it? It looks like there's a clup on it, but I can't be sure.

Go with the Arctic 64 pro, i use one with my athlon 64 3700 s754 and at idle temp is 25 and at full load barely goes over 30. Very good cooler, although it`s not the cheapest.

The only thing you need to be aware of is on some boards, like my old msi k8neo, the cpu fan mounting bracket was the wrong way round so the cooler was sucking air from the psu rather than facing the front of the pc, you`ll have to check your boards config. Now i have a gigabyte board and thats fine.

Can anyone pls let me know what the noise is like from the 64 Pro at lowest setting - if you've undervolted the fan?

Have a Scythe Ninja - was hoping to run fanless but the temp is too high so will have to mount a fan.

deffernalty arctic, i use one and it works a treat, hard to put ont hough, they say bout taking the motherboard out to do it coz its quite a tuffy but a lil bit of force goes a long way

Another vote for Artic Cooler or Scythe Ninja. Best value and best on market respectively.
