SS58G2 Shuttle Motherboard

I have now tried twice and have found the same problem. When the machine starts up, it goes to post and locks up everytime at ACPI Irq 9. The processor I'm running is:

Intel Pentium 4 531 3.0GHz / 1MB Cache / 800 FSB / Hyper-Threading / OEM / Socket 775 / Processor
Shuttles site says that this processor is supported by the motherboard.

I've switched up ram and even left out the drives and it always does the same thing.

It might be worth flashing your bios to the newest version as support for the latest LGA775 processors is added. I'd recommend using the CD-Image for the SS58G2 found on XPC-Bios.

I just received 2 of these yesterday and both behave exactly as described above. Whips through the post screen and then just sits there looking stupid with a blinking cursor. It makes no attempt to boot from anything.

Apparently this MB has an issue with 1 series chips despite the supported list that appears on the Shuttle site. In order to solve, you gotta get a LGA775 with another series number, say 530 instead of 531, or 630 instead of 631, boot up, updated the MB BIOS, and then you can go back to the 1 series chip. Pretty fun huh?
