tiny usb wire

I've recently bought an external hdd to carry around with me, its nice and small and works well, only problem is that the usb wire i have with it is so damn long it sort of makes the portability of the device a little pointless.

Does anyone know where i can get a really short usb cable? I've tried the philips version of one of these... http://www.retractacable.com/product...products_id=30 but it didn't appear to send enough power over the cable and the drive wouldn't power up and just click as it tried to initialise.
