i ran hot cpu tester( http://www.7byte.com/ ) and it completed without an error. Did i check for artifacts for long enough?
ill try prime04

Ok prime04 ended at 1 hour 50 mins, however i was using the pc at the time so that probably didnt helP!
I would call that stable enough?

only you know what stable is.
For me its 8-10 hours solid gaming at a LAN party in a hot room, and for that I'd happily sacrfice a little speed and go for rock solid

I ran prime95 with that setting overnight however when i cam eback the pc had reset itself. However it must have had kept going for a while as in the log it says it goes up to 64k passes (seems to be the limit of the test) and then starts at 8k again which goes up to 28k.
Anyone know how long this would have taken, does each self test level take the same ammount of time? If so i could work it out by that.

Surely it doesnt bode well if it reset itself .
AFAIK depending on settings Prime95/sp2004 go through passes in 3-4 hours or something like that. You should prob try memtest86 to make sure your memory is 100% stable. In my experience prime can run fine for a couple of hours even with memory errors in memtest.
OK, i have taken the voltage to 1.55 now, (even though cpuz shows 1.52) To see if this makes any difference, i will run sp2004 overnight again to see if it has a good effect. Also i dont know what caused the reset so ill see whta happens @ 1.5 then if thats stable i will try @ 1.525 again.
My motherboard seems to be lowering the stock latencys on my ram, i tyed putting the cas back to 3 but it crashed when booting windows, im not sure what numbers i should put for which as the latency numbers are often in different orders for different manufacturers?
Actually, is there any reason for 10x @ 160 to be more stable than 11x @ 237?

Board, cpu, and ram, psu would be helpful.
There are many opinions on how much volts tp put through these(I assume it is a venice/san diego/opty)
It will depend on the chip, and personal choice, personally I would not even think twice about 1.55. I also take into consideration of what the cpu cost.
I think im gunna put it back to 237 as 10x 260 put unessasary strain on the cheapo ram (making it less stable) for no real reason.

Well i got over 11 hours of prime (i stopped it) with 1.55 volts, i will try again @ 1.52 as i am not too sure what caused the reboot.
I am getting 39-43 degrees under load @1.55.

Hmmmmmm, i added a 120mm fan in my case to lower the temp of my pwm however it seems to have added a few degrees to the cpu which is running at 45 quite often, im gunna try putting the fan in a different direction.

Just noticed that you got a DFI ultra D and they are notorious for strange problems with memory. The number of settings are kind of bewildering and the stock or optimised defaults dont always work perfectly. In fact my Crucial Ballistix ram wont work at all at default settings . You might know this but there is loads of interesting stuff at DFI-street.com regarding bios settings etc.Originally Posted by nvening
This thread is very useful. The recommended memory settings are especially good and certainly saved me a lot of time on the road to getting my ram stable .
