External DVD-RW or Internal + caddy?

The drive needs to be external. What would be the best way to do this.

Anyone got any recomendations to which drives/caddy's are best?

    Thanks

There isnt a huge difference between DVD drives nowadays to be honest. I personally would go with the latest LG drive as my current one has served me so well in the time Ive had it. There isnt a huge difference between internal and external, though external could well be slower (ive never had one so not sure).

logically, internal + caddy, that way if you ever get a bigger case/your requirements change you can pop the dvd drive into the case and recycle the caddy for use in something else!

but err failing that, whatever is cheaper
