Better cooling = Better overclock?

I'm thinking about throwing a Zalman VF900 in with my next Scan order but I was wondering, will I be able to up the overclock on my GTO² using it?

it depends, how warm does it get now? Unless youre overclock is limited by heat, then it wont help at all

It hovers at around 85 degrees after ATiTool has been left giving it some for about 10 minutes. Is that especially warm or pretty normal?

EDIT: If I push the core or memory up even the slightest the temperature starts to increase and then the system freezes - it froze at 87 degrees last time.

What revision gto2, early/later batch?

The coolers on these are not the coolers you get on the xt/pe. My early gto2, flashed to 16 pipes with the stock cooler never seen over 60c @520/560, it seems rather hot

First batch, ordered it from OCUK (*shudders*) the week they became available.

Same card as mine, have you increased the fan speed with ati tool, cant remember exactly what % default was, 40/50% of fan speed
