Can someone tell me which PSU to get?? Kinda urgent cos this happened:

Dont wanna spend too much money on it. About £30-35 delivered? I dont overclock etc etc.
Gonna be in a chieftec case, running 3000+, 1.5GB, 3 optical drives, two SATA HDs, possibly a third in the near future.
Is 350W enough?

Yeah, not gonna use a FSP form now on....hopefully it didn't do any damage to my pc! GRR!!

Also, from your calc. i need about 330W....perfect. Think i'm gonna go for that 380W Enermax...nice and cheap, and hopefully reliable!!

Id go for the seasonic 430w psu. Its meant to be about the quietest fan cooled psu and very efficient with it.

If you go through today only, browse to the bottom section its £35.84 inc vat, and postage should be free for you if you have signed up to that deal.

Rethinking, you'll probably be fine with the enermax so might aswell save money. Dont take my word for it though, i change my mind in a matter of minutes.

Tagan are good and I've just installed the very one in your first post. It's a quality product, very quiet and has a good warranty. 330W isn't a great deal, so if you are thinking of upgrading it may be worth looking at the Seasonic.

Even my PCP&C PSU died so nothing is 100% fault proof. Well, its not dead, it just pumps out loads of smoke when you switch it on, still very stable rails tho!

Seasonic - no doubt about, unless you need more amperage on the 12v rail than the 430w version can supply (i.e. 29A). The 330w version is also a bargain at £30, but you may as well spend the fiver extra! They're hands down the quietest and most efficient (bar the FSP Greenpower). They also have rock solid voltage regulation...

You'll probably recoup the extra outlay on the Seasonic within a couple of years of savings on your leccy bill And you'll be nicer to teh environment to boot!

Go for a Seasonic. The 430w if you can. Seasonic make some of the best power supplies at the moment.

The Enermax Coolergiants are noisy. I bought the 380W from Scan and only tested it for a few seconds out of the case.

It has 1 x 70mm fan, 1 x 80mm fan and a blower to suck air from the CPU. Also it is approximately 2.5cm longer than a standard psu. The main ATX cable has rigid pvc sleeving and is difficult to bend.
