Hi there,
I have a STEELPAD 4D with the shiny side up. I put cellotape to see if it would run smoother but there was no difference and it was very smooth at the start.
Now 1-2 days later it seems less smoother and if i look on the bottom of the mouse on the bits that contact the surface they look a little worn out (I've had this mouse for 1-3 months).
Is it something I should worry about? The mouse is not exactly quiet when it moves across the pad. Is there too much friction?

Get some good teflon strips - can get it cheap on a famous auction site. Keep both mouse and steedpad clean. The feet should'nt really be worn too much in only a few months; had my 510 over a year now and still looks like new.
or use a cloth pad my g7 omn my func feels the same and some of the writing around the laser is worn so i wasnt happy

I put celotape back on the feet and turned the mouse mat around on the rough side. Its suprisingly smooth.
Its also good on the shiny side too!

i had that happen on a g5 mouse, i rma'd it, cos the actually feet on the mouse didnt seem to be protecting the base of the mouse around the laser, had a proper gaming mouse mat as well.
i;d keep an eye on it if i was you,it might be me but that doesnt sound right, teflon feet may resolve the issue as mentioned.
use cloth mats. Everglide gamers mat or monster mat. u will wear ur mouse feet down using "steel" pads. I used to use a mx700 on a func1030 and my feet wore down, teflon feet are only short term solutions as they tend to fold in half and become a nightmare
my mx510 is still going strong after a few years on my, er, tabletop mousepad... :)

If you contact logitech they will send you a set of replacement mouse feet for free :)
I removed 2 of my MX1000 feet when i got it, didn't sit flat on any surface
The other two wore down and some of the plastic under the mouse has gone shiney as well as some paint flaking off.
Got some pad surfers on there now, makes it smoother and its dead flat
what would i say to logitech if i wanted tyo get some new feet and how do they fit the places where the old ones went?
Follow the instructions on the logitech site here on how to request mouse feet. They are sticky on one side so they just stick onto the mouse.
