    What Parts? £250

I want to improve my current build of my PC and only have a small budget of around £250/270. I already have an AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice, and a Nvidia Geforce 6800GT (SLI ready) ready to put in My PC but my Cureent Mobo wont Take them. I got these parts free from when my dad upgrded his PC. Also already have 2x512 RAM but its pretty slow at 200mhz.

For the This Budget i want:
    Mobo (SLI,4 slots of RAM,Amd 64/X2)
RAM (2x512 or maybe 2X1g if i can afford that)
I want to overclock the CPU from 2 up to about 2.4 so anything you could particalry recommened to help with this thats cheap and cheerful. I was Thinking of a huge zalman fan and some of that artic cooling stuff and another nice case fan. Is that right?
Also i need a DVD-RW dual layer (black) Writer.

Is it possible to get all this for £250? I could just stretch to about £300 if It would really make a difference.

    Thanks
    Alex

You don't say what your current power supply is, might need to budget for one of those as well with overclock + good graphics card.

200mhz? Do you not X2 it so it makes DDR 400 which is PC3200?

Yeah you need a good PSU.

You don't say whether your 6800GT is PCI-E or AGP. If it's PCI-E, I'd go for:

    Motherboard - Abit KN8-SLI, £73.66 from Scan

Memory - 2GB Corsair Value Select kit, £117.49 from Scan

PSU - Tagan 480W Ultra Quiet SLI ready PSU, £63.32 from Scan

£254.47 total. Scan also do a range of dual layer DVD burners from £23.48 up.

It's not so much the overclocking, as the fact that you list SLi as a required feature. Two graphics cards can draw a lot of watts, and a decent quality PSU is a must. The stable voltages from a good PSU should help with OC'ing as well, though.

100 percent you need a new one chances are its noteven 300 w to be honest and sli cards require at least a 500 watt or a good 480, id be looking at hyper tagan or seasonic for a new one with 500 ish watts, becasue the 6800 series are very power hungry and a generic 300 w psu will not hack it
