    RMA to Asus or Antec

Has anyone had to RMA a PSU to Antec or Motherboard to Asus?

Just wanted to know which country you have to send the item to?

If I buy a Antec Neo HE PSU and it doesn't work with Asus motherboards I have to send it to Antec and pay shipping to them myself.

    Thanks.

The address that I was told to return my NeoHE PSU to was:

    Antec Europe B.V.
    RMA Department
    Sydneystraat 33
    3047 BP Rotterdam
    The Netherlands
    Tel: +31(10)462-2060

    :S

The last 2 NeoHE PSUs that I bought have both worked with all the Asus MBs that I've tried them on. However...I did buy both of these direct from Antec.
    Hope this helps

Many thanks for the information, much appreciated.

If you don't mind me asking how much did the shipping cost?

Did you buy them from the Antec Europe website?

Edit: I can't seem to find the option to order.

There have been compatibility problems between the two.

http://www.silentpcreview.com/article273-page5.html - see postscript in yellow.

http://forums.silentpcreview.com/vie...ight=neo++poll - Antec Neo HE PSU Users Poll

Have also seen at least one other thread elsewhere and other reports on silentpcreview.com forums.

The Neo HE is made by Seasonic for Antec - http://forums.silentpcreview.com/vie...r=asc&start=30 see post 3 on the second page.

Idea was to put it in the bottom chamber of a P180. If the fan ramped up then remove the fan and use the chamber fan to cool the psu. Basically a fanless + modular psu.

The 120mm fan psu's don't have air intake at the back so I can't remove the fan from them and let the chamber fan do the cooling.

Apart from the Antec and the Enermax Noisetaker (which I'm considering as an alternative) there aren't many psu's with decent air intake holes at the back.

Tagan 480 easycon, similar design, mesh across the entirity of the back (witht he exception of where it plugs in) but the fan is that quiet i dont notice it anyway, quieter than my yate loons @40% duty cycle

Slight problem explaining what I was after

The mesh has to be on the intake side. The fan on the exhaust side.

I'm after an 80mm fan psu with generous intake holes/mesh.

ah right, so you mean fan on the back? or on the top? and you want mesh on the bit where the cables come out of?

Fan on the back to exhaust air out. If this fan is taken out then air will exhaust naturally I believe.

Mesh (Antec Neo HE) or decent intake grill (Noisetaker) on the side inside the case. Cool air from the chamber fan will go in via mesh/grill and exhaust other side.

    Hi again Amjed.

Just to throw your decision off a little bit more...depending on what motherboard and components you have, you might have a bit of trouble routing your 4-pin +12V cable to the connector on the MB.

I've installed the NeoHE 550 in my P180 with an Asus A8N32-SLI motherboard. There's a 7900GTX in there, and an X-Fi Fatal1ty soundcard. All cables are routed through the small hole in the metal between the PSU and MB comparment (Plastic slider is closed as much as poss).

All the rest of my cables have been tucked away nicely. The only pain is the +12V cable...which I've had to stretch over my 2 PCI cards (The X-Fi is actually bending up slightly due to the cable), stretch round my Ninja heatsink and pull tightly to get the damn thing in.

It's not a huge deal...it will fit, but if you like tidy cabling, it's a little annoying.

On all other fronts....rails are a liiiiitle low, but nothing serious, 11.84-11.90V on the 12V rail.

As for noise, which is my major concern, it's quieter at idle than my Tagan TG480U01 PSU....a LOT cooler (this thing is cool to the touch with a Yate-Loon fan @ 4V in the PSU chamber where the Tagan was putting out lots of heat), and it is more efficient....My total PC usage (including 20" Monitor, 6.1 Speakers and PC itself, now never peaks over 300W, whereas it would as soon as you loaded up a game with the Tagan.

    Hope this helps

Oh, and it's also shorter than the Tagan....I couldn't actually fit a 25x120mm fan in the PSU chamber with the TG480U01 PSU...the cables would push into the fan blades, but with the Neo, this isn't a problem at all.

    Hello

LOL, one of the things I bought before I even have the psu are the Silverstone extension kit which includes a 4pin 12v extension and main ATX extension.

Have you tried undervolting a 38mm fan in the chamber similar to what DavidStone has done - lowest setting Tricool 38mm and then further undervolted with a fan controller to 5v?

Can you hear the psu fan at all? I wanted to have a PC next to me which I couldn't hear.

I've put my S939 build on hold . Waiting for cpu prices to come down (hopefully later this month, more cash, get rid of current junk). And hopefully more stable Antec Neo psu's
