Motherboard/CPU upgrade and Raid

Thinking of upgrading my trusty MSI 865PE Neo2-FISR/ Intel 2.8. to an AMD64x2 3800setup. Couple of questions.

Not sure about the Striped SATA raidO I use. Will a new motherboard Raids reconise the existing 2*120GB WD SATA drives.

I would prefer to change to what my local supplier stocks - DFI/Abit or would I have to stick with MSI.

Is Windows XP 64 bit worth getting.

pretty sure that you will have to redo your RAID (but I'm certainly no authority on RAID).

Unless you have very specific reaons for wanting to go 64-bit now most people are saying wait for Vista.

If the RAID implimentation is using the same chipset* it will be fine, if its different though, it wont.

* you may need to make sure that they are running the same BIOS version, although this rarely casuses a problem.

Id suggest waiting for Vista like Buff said. Win64 is not worth it for a desktop machine.
