    Laptop memory upgrading

Just got my first Laptop and want to upgrade the RAM have found this 1 gb stick :
    http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/82244
It is the correct type but is it suitable for laptops ? And would i be better off buying a second stick of 512 mb instead , not sure if a celeron processor takes advantage of Dual channel , cheers for any advice.

    Hey Hulkster316

What model of laptop do you have? The module you have listed from ebuyer is a 240pin DIMM. This type of memory is mainly used in desktop systems.

Laptops use either 200pin or 144 pin SODIMMS. They are about half the size of a DIMM

To take the guess work out of which parts will be compatible, try using the Crucial System Scanner - http://www.crucial.com/systemscanner/ or post back with your model details

yerp, I don't think that's the right memory size. It should be short.
