Epson Stylus D88

Hello, I am about to purchase this printer from SCAN, and would like to know if anybody has this printer? Is it any good? Would it be good for doing general printing, or is it designed just for photographs? From what I can tell, it has both a parallel and USB interface. Which one would be better for overall system performance? Using the USB resources, but disabling the parallel port, or using the parallel port, and leaving USB resources free?

Also, who would you see is better with printers, Samsung, Canon, or Epson?

He speaks the truth.
You'll find that Canon have a amazing reliability rate, with a lot of people on these forums finding the exact opposite for Epson’s (heads on the printers often clog up)

Canons after service are also brilliant. My gf's family had an all in one Scanner/Printer/Copier off them. When it broke (which was there own fault anyway), a quick call and it was fixed on site, next day. Can’t fault them.

HP have always been pretty good for me, though the Canon printers I have used (right back to the bubblejet ) have been pretty good.

I've always bought Epson for friends and family and currently have a Epson C66. Cartridges are cheap and I don't print photos.

A colleague has one of the DX all in one Epsons. He does say it comes up with a message that he's using non Epson ink but it hasn't come up with a message like the Canon in the above thread.

OK, I'll take a look at the Canon printers. Does anyone know the cheapest place to find them? SCAN is usually the best.
