My mate swears his Barton is locked - not had a chance to look at it yet but he seems to know what he is doing albeit a completely new rig he is building.

Yep, they have buried the bridges (or should that be "Burned their bridges"?) so only a pin mod will possibly work, we will have to wait until someone with more money than sense tries if first

FOR THE RECORD: I got one (XP 2500+ week 42 from 2003) and its locked....so I told my boss, Daivd, who owns and runs Hexus...

he has emailed AMD and they are looking into it.....not sure it was widely acknowledged even "in house" at AMD.

Have said it before, will say it again.......AMD have been our friends in the overclocking world for a long time. I'm sure they'll talk to us soon.

I was thinking about getting a 2500+ and NF7-S from http://www.cpucity.co.uk before I read this post. Now I don't know what to get!

Also, is it just me or can nobody access cpucity anymore?
