if u dnt really know your stuff why u want a dfi?
Agreed - DFIs are definately not a beginner's board.
because that dfi has the best slot layout of any motherboard by a long way?
And yes - been running that chip in my dfi board for ages.

Yep it should go like stink
But if you don't know what your talking about I'd suggest oe of two things
1: Go read everything at DFI Street - DFI's support forums - Here
or
2: Get something that's a lot easier ;)
Ignore evryone that says theyre difficult to use, you can still just plug and go with them
They're NOT difficult to use IF you make sure you get the right parts, plug everything in and set the BIOS correctly
what is the advantage of a dfi if your not overclocking?

On auto settings they really aren't that different to any other board, its just there are more options. If you just ignore the majority of them then it is no different to anything else as with other boards they will be on auto as you don't have the option to change them.
I would say go for it, you'll learn a lot more about overclocking with a dfi as it is a bit more hands on but not prohibitively so.
DFI doesnt seem any bother at all to run but at least you have all the right bios adjustments if you do get the bug. Most people start off leaving everything at stock but then curiosity to overclock usually wins.
Good luck it should fly.
lol i wouldnt say most people are drawn into something that most novices deem can blow up thier computer, i didnt know anything about overclocking but i purposley bought an opteron 144 and read and read and read about it then tried it myself and i would now say i was good enough to do it everytime i get new cpu now

Hence I'm getting two pieces of good kit to help. And I have the support of good mates to assist and prevent me from blowing up the pc, house, neighbourhood - whatever it is that happens when oc'ing goes wrong. :p
