If you wanna pay a premium just for having the lastest go ahead, really no faster than 939.
Didn't say that anyone had go and buy them......just letting people know they're there.
And true, they're not really any faster (in previews, although we haven't seen the finished product yet) only a negligible 2-5%, but without a doubt, if you were going out to buy a new AMD setup, it's the way to go, as it has the longevity in comparison to S939, which is going to be phased out.
Counting my money..huhu
Only MSI boards eh, Scan havn't put any info in for them yet either, overview, specs etc.
yeh on anandtech they say its not really worth goin for am2 yet, so i might upgrade to another 939 amd
Granted, I'll be hanging fire until I read some solid post-release reviews, and the new socket has had time to 'settle in'.....not buying rev 1.0 again.....learnt my lesson there....but I think in the long run, this is going to be where to put your money.....unless you want Intel of course, in which case ignore all of the above.....
Other manufacturers of the AM2 board would follow shorlty once released also specs should be updated shortly we are awaiting these from MSI at the moment and will update the site ASAP.
Still under NDA on the CPU's... so no info on these yet.
But watch this space
So you have stock of mobos but not CPUs? When are the CPUs due to hit?
Do the 939 CPUs work in an M2 board (don't think they do)? Seems odd to sell boards before the CPUs are released...

Me want Ultrabook
seeing as its basically identical to the old one its not really an upgrade route for anyone but hopefully therell be some nice new .65nm chips that will OC enough to take a big bite out of intel
amd have always had good numbers of amazing cores since the mobile barton and now theyve got a new production plant it can only get better... previously they were all binned down which is great when you know how to seek them out but now maybe theyll have to start pushing their cores to keep up with intel
anyway ill be keeping my old DDR sticks for a while
..or you could buy one of the latest ASRock boards, that have upgradeability to AM2 chips
Such as the 939SLI32-eSATA2 or the 939Dual-SATA2 ....
