Minimum specs for a VIA epia file server

I am wanting to build a file server for divx movies, mp3s and documents.

what is the minimum via epia fanless board i could get to allow it to stream movies and cope with at least 1 other connection randomly accessing files (ie watching a movie and working on pictures)

i was thinking of getting a VIA EPIA ME6000 Fanless Motherboard with 256Mb ram, but am not sure if this is overkill.

also, what is the largest disk size via epia boards can cope with, and can they cope with pci ata expansion cards. (ie so i can plug large disks in if it can't support them)

They should be able to cope with the latest hard drives, especially the M motherboards.

If it's just a file server, and you're not actually wanting to watch DVDs on it, etc, then just being a file server, ANY EPIA should be perfectly capable of pumping out 10/100mbps per second (10 being about 1mb/second, 100 being about 10mb/second max).

You're best checking the manufacturers site for max hard drive size.

Why not get a real Eth file server?

There around £200 and you get a free 80Gb HDD with another slot addon ... saw them on EBuyer I think!
