LOL so what, this is creatives SB 5 series of cards and still they suffer the popping that was an issue on the sb 1 series, and people wonder why I don't touch creative anymore. I wished Hercules updated their game theatre live cards, they were great
While I am here Lee, as I am not a fan of creative gear and Hercules don't do the game theatre xp cards and racks anymore, what would you recommend as a replacement?
Steam: (Grey_Mata) || Hexus Trust
Well I had an X-Fi Fatal1ty with no problems untill I did a reinstall. Then I got loads of popping and crackling. Turns out the 'updated' drivers caused the problems. Went back to the ones on the CD, and no problems whatsoever.
Cheers...
Tom
I found going into the "normal" volume control panel and unticking line in and then reticking it stops the clicks and hisses till rebooting.
is this issue right accross the x-fi range? i need a sound card at the moment.
I have a X-Fi Fatal1ty, I have never had this problem but mine is a very new model and i cannot remember but i read something about the new models having a little something extra.
Anyway I have never had it and have reinstalled around 4 or 5 times now (yes a lot in around 2 months but i had a motherboard upgrade etc...)
The only problem I have is that my TV Tuner does not like it at all I get no sound from it but it doesn't matter as I plan to get a new one soon. It was a cheap KWorld one .
Also Skype - if someones in a call with skype - the person WHO CALLS someone gets a sharp noise around every 5 minutes for about a second. So I dont think it's X-FI related. My friend and I (I whave the X-FI he has onboard audio) tried this out last night and I don't think it can be in anyway X-Fi related.
I find this great - people complain on the 3 modes that it has but it's great for me! I have no problems with it - games work with or without gamemode selected and I love it to bits.
I will never settle for onboard audio again
(Bought mine from Scan.co.uk - by far the best store and cheapest on the web! )
