    Northwood and X1800 series?!?!?

    well i asked before bout this but the answer always seems to be different.
    im thinking about an X1800 GTO for my 3.06 northwood (s478) do u think my chip will be a terrible bottleneck?

    and yes i do have PCI-E

    To be honest if it was my machine with those components, i wouldnt be worried, the cpu isnt really going to restrict you that much. Yes using a more modern chip would give you a few extra FPS, but not enough to go out and purchase a new board/cpu IMO

    That is exactly my point, and to be honest I am kind of attached to this CPU it belonged to the first pc I paid with my own money. I had lots of fun while using it.
