Confused to the point of frustration - please help!

Right, I'm planning a major upgrade (CPU, Motherboard, GFX, possibly RAM) and I'm not sure whether to go 939 or AM2.

I have a budget of around £600(£700 if I buy new RAM) and have decided on a X1800XT for the GFX.
However, with the imminent release of AM2 should I just bite the bullet and get AM2 or will I still be happy with 939.

I will have this set up for around 2 years once bought (which will be around the end of the week), and I would feel more comfortable building with 939, plus the fact that aftermarket coolers havent arrived for AM2 Yet.
The fact it's exam time isn't helping, but I just can't make the decision.

AM2 3800x2 or 939 3800x2/opt 146, help me out here.

You might as well wait a few days to see a few reviews.
However, if they show minimal difference & you already have DDR RAM that you can use you can then happily go 939.
If you don't have DDR to carry forward but have to buy new RAM anyway then I would go AM2.

Make sure you wait, you would be silly to rush into buying something now when there is something better around the corner

Most AM2 articles say performance is about the same, so you pay your money and make your choice.
