problem with my keyboard can anyone help

the profiler app for it is great but recently i dicontected my keybaord and forgot to plug it in when i booted up so i plugged it back in and it refuses to recognise that the gaming pad is plugged in its really annoying me. ive tried reinstalling the driver that worked for a while then stopped. im going to lan party soon and want to be able to use thgaming pad any ideas
