ASRock AM2 upgrade board
Does anyone out there know if the ASRock AM2 upgrade board (for use on the AR-939DUAL-SATA2 for example) requires you to use the DDRII memory slots on it?
Essentially, can you use a new AM2 processor (via the AM2 upgrade board) with normal DDR memory in the original m/b DIMMs?
I have looked on the manufacutres website but cannot find the answer.
Also, does anyone know where you can get hold of the AM2 upgrade board?

I would assume it does require DDR2, though I've no idea for sure... since the memory controller is on the processor.

Thanks Salazaar,
For anyone else that is interested, below is the reply from ASRock tech support:
"Sorry no. You need to install DDR2 memory modules. Cause the memory controller is inside CPOU and supports only DDR2 modules.
Best regards,
ASRock Support"

Hope it's still cheap compared to buying a brand new AM2 mobo with more features...huhu
