    New Processor

    ok folks ive got to buy a new processor now that i have money that i dont really need

    my budget is about 240 and ive got a 939 abit an8-ultra board

    look forward to hearing ur opinions, i was considering an X2 3800 or an opteron 165 dual core

    hey k0m0d0_dragon, I have a 3700 sandiego and for games etc it is fine however a dual core would be much much quicker in a multiple application environment.

    what i will recomend to you is that you buy a 3800x2 over an opteron 165. Opterons recently havnt been overclocking as well as the 3800 champion, your hardly going to see a big difference over the 1mb l2 cache per core in real world performance.

    Go for the x2 3800 (939) and overclock it to the speed of an fx-60 (or higher)

    that was my gut reaction ive already got a 3700 sanny which is now in my media rig and i was just curious as to what processor i should put in my gaming one.
