Need advice on installing fanmates2

Can anybody shed any light on how you install 2 fanmates2.
replacing me 2 stock coolers on my 7900gts with the zalman vf900 on my ASUS A8N32-SLI deluxw M/B and i am a loss how to install the fanmates to controll speeds.

I would thought fan m8 is optional, since you can connect the fan header to the motherboard directly, then use somthing like speedfan or motherboard monitor to control the fan speed

You can't plug it into the GFX card, if that's what you mean - the plug is incompatable with the 2-pin socket. You can power it from the motherboard using a 3-pin socket, or a standard 4-pin from the PSU IIRC.

Ideally dont wont to use the fan m8s will be using speedfan.
i can power the top card, M/b power is next to card, im trying to figure out how to power bottom card up since theres no M/B power near the card and the power cable on the vf900 is quite short.

are you saying get a 3pin / 4pin convertor powered straight from the psu .
Is there a cable you can buy to join both vf900 cables then plug into M/B

there are conevrtors, but you will not be able to control the fan voltage/ speed.

thus it would either run at 12/7/5 volts, and you cant change it unless you change the cable layout. you could buy those bays/pci cards that contains fan header if you want to
