How much does it cost to run my PC?

    Always wondered this...

My PC uses about 380W of power, and has 2 CRT monitors. If it is on for 15 hours a day, assuming an average load of 10% at any given time, how much does it cost me per day on my electricity bill?

I'm sure someone on here has the brains to work that out!

    Have fun!

1kw over an hour is about 10p. System loads are probably in the region of 100w idle and 300w load for an average computer non uber-sli computer.

No idea how much your monitors use but you're maybe looking at something like 2p per average hour so 30p a day as a SWAG (Scientifically Wildly Assumed Guess)?

the size of your monitors will make a huge difference. Pretty sure they will be the most power hungy out of everything too.

I would say the monitors should be similar to the computer. So about 90p/day. It depends alot on the monitor size and efficency.

If you really want to know, get hold of one of these. Sometimes Maplin do a special offer on them (half-price). Quite useful elsewhere in the house.

If you get one let us know what you find out. It would be interesting to know how much power stuff really uses.
