    Arctic Cooling Silentium T1

Has anyone got any experience with using one of these?

I'm using my old Athlon XP rig as a htpc, but it is seriously loud. I was going to go with a 430w Seasonic S12 to quieten it, but this looks decent.

I'm just looking to get the quietest system possible as it is in my bedroom, and I find it difficult to sleep when there's noise in the room.

    Thanks

"SPCR has just reviewed the Arctic Cooling Silentium T2. That is the same case, but with a different front bezel. So everything in that review and the discussion thread with it applies to the T1 too."

You may want to search the forums (at the above site) for more information on the case.

A Semperon + cheap motherboard isn't much more expensive, and with cool-n-quiet turned on generates far less heat & less load on the PSU than an Athlon XP and yet will give more performance.

I can't recommend this case highly enough. I've built two systems with it now, it's not silent but it's quieter than my PC which has arctic cooling on the vid card running at 10% speed (ie silent), Coolmaster Hyper48 on the CPU (very quiet, 18Db? I believe) and 2 no. 120mm Akasa Ultra Quiet 1400RPM Amber case fans (which are generally considered very quiet).

The T1 is quieter and pushes as much, if not more, air through the case.

It is an absolutely first class product.
