    Help :(

Ive been having some trouble with my SL75-FRN-l (Soltek) motherboard where if I reset the PC or turn it off it forgets what CPU is in it and refuses to boot

I want to try a BIOS flash to the latest revision however the read-me says i need an "Io.sys" and to make a pure bootable floppy diskette

How the hell do i do this? the only files included in the BIOS update from the webby are AWDFLASH.exe and the frnl16.bin BIOS file

    Please HELP

I think you just need to make the floppy disk bootable. Simply format it and select bootable or system disk when you do so. Copy your files over. When it boots (ensure A is 1st in BIOS) simply type the name of the flash program.

the only option is to create an MS-DOS startup disk.

should be it.. or with win9x (ie win98/winME) you can type 'format a: /s' into the command prompt which will format the disk and make it bootable

Do you mean that the mobo won't post / you can't get your system to boot or that it doesn't print out the right speed / grade CPU and asks you to either enter the BIOS or press a key (usually F1) to continue?

Hmm, I've managed to get it to show as an AthlonXP 2000+ now, (No idea why... I think it did it itself o_O)

Seems to be holding out for now (posting on the pc in question atm)

I've E-Mailed Soltek and see if they ahve any ideas.

    Thanks for the input chaps
