    HTPC Case...

Can anyone recommend me a good aluminium HTPC case, in silver, with the possibility for at least 3 hard drives, integrated VFD and IR control, full height expansion cards (not half height) and if at all possible full sized ATX compatibility (although m-atx wouldn't be too bad I guess)?

Anyone know of anything that fits the bill?

Also, what's the best dual-digital tuner to get? The Hauppage ones seem to get some very good reviews....(thinking about the Win-TV PVR500)

Any help would be gratefully received...

They are not all Alu, but most are Alu front certainly, and a lot fit a full ATX board and full hight PCI card.

I was looking at the black one of the cheapest they have, looks like a decent case, but I don't have £80 to spend on a HTPC case.

Ticks a few of the boxes - although it's m-atx only and I've wondered about how to add an ir receiver.

Still a very good looking case though.

[edit] just realised it's 2 hard drives only...2TB not enough?!

    How about the Zalman HD-160XT?

Anyone have any experience with these cases? I like the touch screen in the front of it....

yes, i'd say the touch-screen wasn't worth the money.
i managed to source a lian-li v880 from Clunk, and its absolutely fantastic.

It gets raving reviews, although im not sure where to get one

Its full ATX, silver, room for 3 hard drives, i think clunk still has a VFD to go with it, or buy an Imon, its aluminium, light as a feather, great air flow, i've got an imon vfd in mine, with my remote its awesome.

Might be one to check out

    Cant find that case anywhere

Did find the v800 which looks nice and would match my v1000 I have my main PC in.

They are pretty hard to find, try fleabay, european sellers are probably your best bet.

And the v880 does look infinitely better than the v800

I shall have a look at some reviews of the v880 then.....see what I think. I know that Lian Li are the daddies of Alu cases, so it sounds promising....

I have a Silverstone but it's uATX because I wanted a low-profile case (only 10cm high). The Soundgraph VFD and remote work quite nicely though, and there are several full ATX cases. It looks pretty slick though squeezing everything into the insides was a little tricky! with a bigger case it'd be easier no doubt

That Fusion looks great....I agree.....but the VFD that is supplied doesn't have an IR built in....and unfortunately, through extensive research on t' web, it's not possible to 'add' an IR to the VFD.....you would just have to make do with a plug in one, similar to that provided by microsoft.....

The only other way round it is to replace the VFD with another Soundgraph one (they are who supply it to Antec) that has built in IR, but then you lose the functionality of the volume control on the front of the Fusion.....

Nice case, but it is flawed unfortunately.....

Will look into the Silverstone selection as well.
