    Noise levels out of Box: Shuttle SN41G2 v Soltek EQ3702M

    Can anyone with first hand experience please give a judgement as to which of the two systems in the subject line is quieter out of the box i.e pre-mod.

    I have finally decided to go SFF for my HTPC and now need to decide on which SFF

    My current choices (if I stay AMD) are;

    • SN41G2
    • Soltek EQ3702M
    • AOpen XC cube amd

    All of these systems have comparable features and are close enough in price, what really interests me is the noise levels as this will sit under my TV in the living room.

    The soltelk will be the quietest by far and is probably the better overall choice for a HTPC. I can't say anything about the Aopen XC Cube as I have never got to play with one.

    The Shuttle will require a lot of modifcations before it reaches the solteks low noise levels but can be done.

    What we need is:
    Style and attention to detail of the Shuttle XPC
    Low noise levels & dual 5.25" bays of the Soltek EQ
    Internal space & tidyness of the Biostar iDEQ

    Now that would be a real killer!
