Shuttle graphics card problems?

I've been talking to a few people about running a Rad9800 or FX5900 in my SN41G2, and I've been hearing about problems with cards overheating. Is there anyone else out there who's had similar problems, or does yours run fine? Should I be thinking about fitting another fan to mine?

With the way the AGP and PCI slots are arranged in the SN41G2, you won't even be able to fit the FX5900 in there because of the large cooling unit attached to the GPU and RAM... Unless you make nice big hole on the side, that is.

As for the R9800, I'm not aware of any heat issues unless you overclock it... Worst come to worst, you can alway mod the side of the case and put a hole and a fan guard where the GPU fan is.

I'm not aware of any issues with any of the radeons, my 9700pro raises the case temp a bit, but leave at stock and there should be no problem

Good-o! Some people had been telling me that they'd got memory corruption, but I guess that isn't an issue with the Rads.

There have been problems with some shuttles and radeons check out the forums on sudhian for more

Oooh, ta Gordy. As far as I can find out, most of the problems have come from All In Wonder cards (where the poor old PSU simply doesn't put out enough juice to power it), 9600 cards (which have to be turned on by first hitting the power button and then the reset button for some bizzare reason) and a certain batch of Sapphire cards (which had a dodgy lot of ram). I think a nice shiny blue Hercules 9800Pro card is the order of the day!

Oh, and some 256Mb 9800s run a bit hot too since they use a different flavour of ram that runs at a higher temperature.
