Wireless with no PCI Slots

Hi, anyone got any suggestions on how to add wireless to my PC? i have 2 7900GTX's and a Soundblaster Fatal1ty card, and as such have no room to fit any other cards I know i could use a USB dongle but id rather not, it will look crap and having a big piece of plastic sticking out of either the front or back of the PC isnt going to be very secure... and its bound to get broken =/

There is no other way apart from USB... so you're going to need to get a PCI slot free or go USB

well thats not necessarily true, i think i read somewhere that there was an aircard developed that would work on IDE, however i wouldnt want to use that, what i was really wondering was if there were any internal usb things? ie something i could plug onto an internal usb header and just run the aerial round the case or something? (like how the aerials on laptops run round the screen.

oh, that really is news to me . IDE? strange way for wireless signals to go pass through (I see a bottleneck in the IDE version). Sorry I can't be of any more help!

yeah, specially when you have HD's etc running on the IDE channel, to be honest it looks a pretty crappy way to network, and i personally wouldnt use it, but i do need to find someway to connect my pc wirelessly, lol

Get a usb extension cable and use a usb stick. You could then hide it somewhere.

You can get some very small usb wireless sticks. I'm using a freecom one at the moment that is about the same size as a packet of the long flat chewing gum ie tiny.

I'm pretty sure that's how the Asus Wireless card in the A8N32-SLI deluxe wireless edition works...it plugs into the USB9,10 ports located nearby, so I think it is possible.
Not sure how to go about finding one though

If you've got a spare usb header on the mobo you can wire an internal USB slot quite easily, but the signal will be pap inside a metal box...

I could run the cable to the front of the box, i have a drive bay adapter thingy that allows you to put a slimline cd/dvd drive and a 3.5" device in 1 drive bay, actually i have 2 of them, 1 has a slotloading dvd writer and a card reader, the other just has a dvd writer, they also have a channel on the side where there are 2 usb slots, i have taken the usb slot things off as i dont use them, so i could either fit the usb adapter in the channel, or into the 3.5" bay, the front of both is open, and they will justy be covered by a sheet of plastic, the adapter im looking at is http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...A3P5ROKL5A1OLE i just need to find a cable i can attach to the usb header i have free and to the adapter

Its a wireless access point that you can use as a bridge to a wireless network. Some will work directly plugged into the ethernet port on the back of your pcs, others require a switch, ie wireless ap - switch - pc (just a small 5 port would be all you'd need) and then you can add another pc in without worrying about buying wireless cards.

Either that, or if you don't fancy the diy job, Buy the Netgear WGPS606, which is a wireless print server with in built 4 port switch - allowing normal ethernet equipped pcs to connect to a wireless network without a wireless card being added.
