    Antec P180 + 580W Tagan 2Force T580-U22 = New PSU suggestion

Antec P180 and my Tagan 580w definately don't get on together, the extra deep 120mm fan near the PSU bay is wayyyyyy to big for me Tagan to fit.. see pics

See the issue? Looks like I need a new PSU Bah. What do you guys suggest? Would it be modular? Is my Tagan especially long? I'd just ordered an ATX 12v (P4 AUX) extender as that was too shortl, but now looks like I need to purchase a whole new PSU! Woo

I have looked at the Antec Neo 500w modular, what do you guys reckon?

    Advice comments and suggestions welcome

You know you can move the fan to the upper left of the case? That's what i did and it works fine, no heating problems.

It won't cool the hard drives if you put them in the lower bays then of course, and they can get rather warm if you've got Raptors and a very slow spinning fan like the Tagans...

TBH, I did go a buy a new PSU in the end, but only because I was offered an Antec NeoHE 550 for £30 .

Beforehand though Tobeman, I stuffed all the cables that I wasn't using in the gap beneath the PSU, and did the same with any slack that I had left over on any of the other cables.

I can take some pictures of the NeoHE 550 if you like? It does fit a hell of a lot better, that's for sure!
One thing I would say about it is that the P4 12V is, again, quite a tight fit, it will just about fit stretching over the PCI cards if your connector's at the top of the motherboard, but you've got an extender on the way anyway, so it may not be necessary for you

I may be wrong, but could you just not attach the fan to the other side of the bracket? (I have a p160, no idea how the p180 works though...)

The problem you have then is that the fan catches all your Hard drive cables instead!
Have you tried using a 120x25 mm fan tobe...still too tight a fit?
I know it was with my Tagan in the end, so it's sitting in a box, in a dark wardrobe for being just too damn fat.

Well, thanks for all the replies. I've plumped for, funnily enough, an Antec 500w Neo modular dooberry

What FatalSaviour states is indeed correct, cables appear to be getting in the way of fans everywhere.

Indeed, mine is right at the top, had to remove one of the exhaust fans to get anywhere NEAR it. No chance of me getting to it though, a couple of centimetres off at full strech and thats pulling the PSU out from its bay (not that it ever fit, thats when I took the PSU compartment fan out

I miss my Akasa Eclipse-62's removable motherboard tray

My Tagan will be up for sale shortly! Cheers for the help guys
