    TV Tuner Cards?

    Hey Guys,
I'm currently looking for a cheap TV Tuner Card. I'm unsure of the technology behind them etc, but I suppose I'm looking for good, digital quality with maybe the freeview type channels, or failing that, just Channels 1 to 5.

Anyone know of any cards which fit that specification for say under 30 pounds? I don't mind if it's USB or PCI, so long as the picture quality is good.

    Any suggestions?

if you get a DVB-T card (freeview) then the picture quality is affected by the strength of your signal and the software that is decoding/displaying the pocture, the card itself just takes the analogue channel and decodes the digital stream out of it sending this to the drivers and software.

the Nova T is supposed to be pretty good, and the hauppauge software is apparently good too, although i haven't used either myself.

The Nebula Electronics DigiTV is an expensive card, but the software is very good and the card is good quality too. DBA drivers are available so it works with Windows MCE and other compatible software (Media Portal springs to mind).

Personally i wouldn't bother with a regular analogue card unless you don't get a digital signal at all.
