new mouse ... G7 worth the pricetag?

i'm in the market for a wireless mouse and I'd like to know if anyone particularly recommends any of them? Specifically I'd like a larger-than-MSintellimouse sized thing as the one I have at work is too small (I think anyway). At home I have a logitech mx510 which is miles better, but if there was something slightly larger...

    I'm thinking about going for a G7 ... but it's pretty pricey
    Any other recommendations?

is it for gaming or just general use, i could recomend my MX Laser 1000, its very nice and so comfortabel! and i game hardcore with it, it may not be a "gaming mouse" but i really liek it. good to just put it ona dock when ur not using it, the battery lasts ages aswell. here is a link http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=145743

I've got an MX1000 and its fantastic. Bit cheaper than the G7 too. It doesn't have the swappable batteries though, which looks useful.

hmmm... I think the G7s extra battery, features and general improved specs may make it worth it over an mx1000, as they're both premium-price mice?

did you mean mx1000 is the same size as a 510 or the g7?

i got the g7, which is just a wireless version of the g5, aside from me using it on my desk to much which wore away the pads its a great mouse exact same performance as its wired counter part, the batteries mean that you never run out of juice, and i would say that it is worth the cash because of the high dpi it offers but the only differnce between thiks and the g5 is the wireless and the finish of the mouse, the g7 being metalic like which is shiny and the g5 being rubbery and matt plastic, its the only real mouse i have had so cnt compare but seems like the perfect shape, this would be whgy so many people bought the g5 as the shape is perfect ,this is just wireless version

smaller and lighter than the mx1000

Have had both at the monent using the G7 and can say I miss my mx1000 (better lay out) but I have used the mx1000 recently at a mates and did not realise just how heavy it was compared to the G7 also had issues with interference at lans with the mx1000 which is why I bought the G7.

Both great pices of kit but for gaming the G7 wins hands down, for general windows use the MX1000 greater comfort put it ahead imo

thanks for the info G7 looking good at the moment as it'll probably have to cope with games, general browsing and work, home use, and occasional lan useage at various points in time. I shll keep my eyes peeled for a deal on one

Scan have it on today only.

I would reccomend the MX1000, the wireless aspect is perfect and the cradle ensures my desk is tidy.

The wires dont clutter or stop me moving on the desk now and Im really happy.

if u really need wireless then G7 is awesome, if not then the G5 is a slightly better mouse interms of features and feel imo, but has the wire. I personally use the G5 which i picked upfor 45 deleivered about 2 months ago

The MX1000 is good mouse, particuarly the shape and the laser sensitivity, but I never liked the fact that it was so heavy, no doubt due ot the rechargeable battery. I replaed it with a MX610 which has the same laser, but is much lighter (though the shape isn't quiet as good though).

Nice shape and the swappable batteries are pretty neat.

Not really used for any games so can't comment on that really.
