I have just installed a new raptor in my pc because my old boot drive failed. After installing, the bios says that the raptor is called BzBzBzBzBzBzBzBz. I take it that this is not normal and I'm not going to be installing windows untill I know of a way to fix this. Can anyone help???
Edit: On one bootup the name was there but it has gone again now.

Hmm that's weird, something may be faulty. On my current Socket A board (yes, therefore its old) the SATA Bios was able to read everything about it immediately. Try testing the drive in someone elses machine who has SATA, and if possible perhaps look into a BIOS upgrade for your mobo... see what benifits that may bring.
I'm upgrading bios now. I'll check back in a bit
Edit: Bios upgrade didn't fix the problem so I'll try it on someone else's pc who already has a raptor to see if mine if faulty

It might be worth running WD's diagnostic programs and seeing what that throws up too.

I've just got back from a friends house and it worked first time thereThat must mean that it is my motherboard that is the problem, yet other people seem to have it working with the AS8. I've searched and searched the internet and I can't find anyone else ever having this problem! Should I just get a new mobo?
