    format and reinstall '95

    Hey, i want to completely reformat my old pc at my dads so i can reinstall '95.. could anyone enlighten me on how to do this (i haven't needed to do this for ages, so i kinda forgot the exact way to do it..)

    Easy enough if you google, god bless bootable CD's!

    There you go, or There.

    Basically, boot into DOS, and type D:Setup, or whatever drive letter is your CD drive and follow the on-screen instructions. Simple really.

    when i did it i always copied cab file to h/d and installed form there just saves hassle if you change drivers hardware since the files are all there

    Yeah there's a folder on the cd that contains all the .cab files. Format the drive and then create a suitably named folder on the now blank hard drive. Copy all the .cab files and anything else from that folder into the new folder and then run the setup file straight off the hard drive.

    Make sure you can see the cd in dos before formatting the hard drive though!!!

    Heh, thanks.. i did try google, but i prefer human responses - they always seem more reliable
